WATCH: National Trust launch inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan

The National Trust of Australia (Queensland) today officially launched the inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

General Manager for Education & Community Engagement, Paul Guerin, told myGC the new plan aims to develop, nurture and grow direct and indirect opportunities for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

“Our Reconciliation Action plan focuses on three primary areas – relationships, respect and opportunities,” he said.

“Our aim would be that we will be able to share our differences so that we may have a brighter shared future together.”

Dignitaries were treated to a special ceremony by Yugambeh dancers at the newly renovated Aboriginal Cultural and Dance Show area to launch the plan.
