A Gold Coast woman has copped a hefty fine after she was spotted driving down the M1 with two dogs on her lap.
A Police officer noticed the dogs as the woman drove past the officer’s car on the motorway.
The officer observed one dog visibly hanging out the window from the woman’s lap and the other walking around the car and dash at will.

She was pulled over at a nearby service station and given a stern talking to by the officer and warned to restrain the dogs.
The 35-year-old from Mudgeeraba was also given a $311 fine for her troubles.
Police are reminding all motorists that travelling with an unrestrained animal can cost you a fine.
