Where to enjoy Christmas carols on the Gold Coast this year

Tis the season to be jolly, with Christmas fast approaching!

So if you are not yet feeling the Christmas cheer, singing along to some carols is sure way to drum up your festive spirit.

Here is our pick of where to enjoy some cheery tunes around the Gold Coast this year:

Saturday 1 December

Mayor’s Christmas Carols
Time: 2pm to 9pm
Where: Broadwater Parklands, Marine Parade, Southport
What: Singing superstars Kate Ceberano and Anthony Callea will be there, supported by an impressive cast of talent. The free family event will be hosted by Shelley Craft and will feature an entertaining PJ Masks Christmas Show for the little ones, a bunch of food trucks, and of course an appearance by Santa himself. Interactive kid’s fun commences at 2pm, with the main show kicking off at 5pm. To conclude the evening, a spectacular fireworks show will light up the night sky at 9pm.

Tugun Lights Up
Time: 4pm to 8.30pm
Where: Toolona Street, Tugun (eastern end)
What: Enjoy Christmas entertainment, dining under the stars next to the iconic Fig trees, Christmas markets stalls, a Santa visit, competitions with prizes and more.

Sunday 2 December

Oxenford Christmas Carols
Time: 6pm to 8:30pm
Where: Damian Leeding Memorial Park, 1 Watersports Lane, Oxenford
What: Free fun family event with light shows and on water Jet Pack display! Food trucks and café will open. Bring your picnic blanket and sing along to all your favourite Christmas carols with Santa.

Friday 7 December

Studio Village Community Carols
Time: 5pm to 8.30pm
Where: 87 Village Way, Oxenford
What: The 24th annual Studio Village Community Carols will see a number of performers return to entertain and some new faces. Enjoy international food vendors, Santa Bugs, Santa, fireworks and much more.

Saturday 8 December

Broadbeach Christmas Carols
Time: From 3pm
Where: Pratten Park, Old Burleigh Road, Broadbeach
What: Enjoy an afternoon jam-packed with kids’ activities and incredible entertainment filled with Christmas spirit and joy, with fireworks at the conclusion of the concert.

Arundel Christmas Carnival and Carols
Time: 4pm to 8pm
Where: Arundel Presbyterian Church, 132 Allied Drive, Arundel
What: Enjoy carnival games, inflatables, selfie challenge, petting zoo, face painting, sausage sizzle and much more.

Varsity Lakes Christmas Carols
Time: 4pm to 8pm
Where: Varsity Promenade, Varsity Lakes
What: Enjoy a great night out for the family with festive cheer, delicious eats, traditional carols, entertainment and spectacular fireworks. There will be plenty of fun for the kids and a visit from Santa himself.

Pacific Pines Christmas in the Park
Time: 3.45pm to 8.00pm
Where: Central Park, 2 Hotham Drive, Pacific Pines
What: Have a sing along to some Christmas Carols with local entertainers. There will be market stalls, food trucks, and family entertainment.

Sunday 9 December

Ormeau Carols
Time: 4pm to 9pm
Where: Brien Harris Oval, Orange Mountain Road, Ormeau
What: From 4pm children will be able to enjoy rides, face painting and food vans serving delicious treats and meals. There will also be a visit by Santa, with the concert set to begin at 7pm.

Coolangatta Christmas Carols
Time: 5pm to 8pm
Where: Queen Elizabeth Park, Cnr McLean Street & Marine Parade, Coolangatta.
What: Sing along to your favourite Christmas carols and be entertained as skydiving Santa arrives in style. Browse the Coolangatta Christmas Markets and grab a bite from the food trucks open from 5pm. There will also be activities for the kids, and magical Christmas performances for the whole family to enjoy.

Monday 10 December

Currumbin Community Carols
Time: 5.30pm to 8pm
Where: Galleon Park, 59 Galleon Way, Currumbin Waters
What: Celebrate the season with a traditional Christmas concert and lots of free family activities including; roving entertainment, glow-in-the-dark face painting, jumping castle, hula hoops, poi balls, a spectacular laser light show, and a visit from Santa.

Thursday 13 December

Burleigh Heads Christmas Carols
Time: 4.30pm to 8.30pm
Where: John Laws Park, Burleigh Headland
What: Enjoy a wonderful afternoon and evening of Christmas entertainment and fun. Bring the family and a picnic blanket, relax and sing along to your favourite Christmas carols. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Saturday 15 December

Nerang Celebrates Christmas
Time: 3pm to 8.30pm
Where: Bischoff Pioneer Park and Nerang Street, Nerang
What: The afternoon entertainment program will feature local artists and school bands followed by a huge evening program with traditional carols and a visit from Santa. There will be rides to enjoy, a wide selection of food stalls, and a fireworks finale to conclude the event.

Upper Coomera Christmas in the Park
Time: 5.30pm to 9pm
Where: John Siganto Park, Reserve Road, Upper Coomera
What: Enjoy an evening out with family and friends with live entertainment and Christmas carols. There will be a barbecue, cold drinks and food vans. All welcome.

Labrador Carols in the Park
Time: 5.30pm to 8.30pm
Where: Norm Rix Park, 119 Government Road, Labrador
What: Celebrate Christmas with an evening of carols with music by the Salvation Army Band. Meet Santa and Frosty the Snowman. There will be a sausage sizzle and a selection of food stalls, face painting and a special fireworks display that will light up the night sky at 8.30pm.

NightQuarter Christmas Carols Live in the Paddock
Time: 4pm to 10pm
Where: 1 Town Centre Drive, Helensvale (opposite the Helensvale Train Station)
What: Bring the family to NightQuarter for a night of Christmas festivities. The Paddock will come alive with carols. It will be a night out from the whole family. Don’t miss dancing with Rudolph and singing with Santa!

Southport Yacht Club Carols on the Broadwater
Time: 4pm to 7.30pm
Where: Southport Yacht Club
What: There will be free face painting and live entertainment from the Hip Replacements, as well as a special Santa arrival at 5.30pm. Children will be able to purchase glow sticks to get into the Christmas spirit!

Sunday 16 December

Jacobs Well Community Carols
Time: 5.30pm to 8.30pm
Where: Reisenwebber Park, Bay Drive, Jacobs Well
What: Family and friends can enjoy the Christmas spirit by coming along to the Jacobs Well Community Carols. Bring a picnic rug and your singing voice.

Tuesday 18 December

Palm Beach Christmas by the Sea
Time: 4pm to 7.30pm
Where: Palm Beach Parklands, 945 Gold Coast Highway, Palm Beach
What: Join in the relaxed festivities of Christmas on the Southern Gold Coast as Christmas by the Sea celebrates its 14th year. There will be carols, food vendors, kids entertainment and fireworks.

Saturday 22 December

Highland Reserve Christmas
Time: 4pm to 8pm
Where: Tallowwood Park, Rose Valley Drive, Upper Coomera
What: Bring your picnic rug or chair and best singing voice to the Upper Coomera’s Christmas event for the whole family.

Sunday 23 December

Surfers Paradise Carols on the Beach
Time: 6.30pm to 8pm
Where: Surfers Paradise Beach, Surfers Paradise
What: A stage set on the beach will feature a stunning line-up of talented local musicians and dancers and will finish with a flurry of fireworks.
