Wild Oats XI has claimed line honours in the 2018 Sydney to Hobart Yacht race to secure a record ninth title.
The Supermaxi crossed the line just after 8am Hobart time on Friday morning in one of the closest finishes in years.
Wild Oats XI was trailing on Thursday night before a tactical masterstroke by skipper Mark Richards, who sent the Supermaxi further east than the other front runners Comanche and Blackjack to take advantage of the winds.

The win is sweet revenge for Wild Oats XI who crossed the line first last year only to be stripped of the title following a protest, handing the win to Comanche.
In 2016 the Supermaxi was forced to retire with keel damage, while a split main brought an early end to its race in 2015.
