Wildlife Wednesday: Jazzy the pademelon

Jazzy the pademelon is lucky to be alive, after her mum was hit and killed by a car.

Dr Michael Pyne told myGC a passer-by was thoughtful enough to check the mum’s pouch and bring the young joey straight to the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.

“Jazzy was pretty knocked around – she suffered a nasty fracture in her upper leg. She has had surgery and now has a pin going down her bone,” he said.

“She’s a tough little one, but it’s a lot of hard work to pull her through. It’s going to be a long road to recovery.”
