SAM Stosur’s losing run has continued at the Cincinnati Masters, losing to Serena Williams.
The Gold Coaster, who suffered a 6-0 6-2 defeat to Williams in less than an hour Montreal last week, put on a fight on Wednesday as she pushed the top seed to 7-6 (7) 7-6 (7).
In the men’s competition, Lleyton Hewitt and Marinko Matosevic both posted second-round losses.

Hewitt was beaten 6-1 6-4 by Italy’s Fabio Fognini, while American John Isner defeated Matosevic 6-3 7-6 (7/1).
Meanwhile, fellow Gold Coast product Bernard Tomic has won a wildcard to the US Open later this month.
He was among eight men named as a wild-card entry by the US Tennis Association for the tournament starting on August 25.
