Wimbledon cancelled for first time since WW2

Wimbledon has become the latest sporting event to be cancelled, the first time the tournament has had to do so in 75 years.

The grand slam was scheduled to take place in London at the end of June, but will now be put off until next year.

The announcement comes after the Tokyo Olympics was postponed, along with almost all the world’s sporting leagues.

It’s the first time the grand slam has been called off since World War Two.

Tennis stars have been left devastated, including Roger Federer who took to Twitter to share the news.

There will now be no professional tennis anywhere in the world until at least July 13.
