Winter Solstice Festival to return to Burleigh this Thursday

After a hiatus of more than 9 years, the Winter Solstice Festival will finally make a return to Burleigh this Thursday from 5 – 9pm.

James and Connor Streets will come alive to celebrate the shortest day and longest night of the year with live music, BMX and skateboard stunt demonstrations, free kids activities, fire performances, lantern workshops, market stalls and delicious on street local dining.

Division 12 Councillor Pauline Young said she is thrilled to see the family favourite event return to the beachside suburb in 2018.

“Despite being the shortest day of the year, there will be no shortage of family fun to be had in Burleigh at the Winter Solstice Festival,” said Cr Young.

“The free festival gives the community a reason to come join the family-friendly festivities, enjoy food from local retailers in the Burleigh precinct and to celebrate the shortest day of the year,” she said.

“The Winter Solstice is a time to celebrate, take a moment with family and friends and enjoy the entertainment and atmosphere that Burleigh has to offer,” she said.

The Burleigh Winter Solstice Festival is on from 5pm – 9pm this Thursday 21 June. For more information, visit
