A MAN has been charged with murder after a woman was allegedly stabbed to death at a unit in Tweed Heads overnight.
Police were called to the address on Brett Street just before 6.30pm, following reports of a domestic-related incident.
Upon arrival, officers found a 63-year-old woman lying on the floor of the unit with critical injuries.

Despite desperate attempts by paramedics, the woman could not be saved and died at the scene.
A 64-year-old man, who is known to the woman, was taken into custody at the unit after a short struggle with police.
He was then transported to Tweed Heads Police Station and charged with murder.
He’s due to appear in Tweed Heads Local Court today.
