Woman charged with murdering mother-of-two in Victoria

A WOMAN has been arrested and charged with murdering a mother-of-two whose body was found dumped on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula last month.

Joanne Martell, 45, was reported missing by relatives in May last year. Nine months later, detectives received a tip-off from the public which led them to her body in bushland near Sorrento on 13 January.

Homicide Squad detectives have since charged a 42-year-old Ravenhall woman with one count of murder. She was due to front Melbourne Magistrates Court today.
