Woman charged over horror crash that killed young man

A WOMAN has been charged over a crash which claimed the life of a 23-year-old man on the NSW Mid North Coast last month.

The fatal accident happened on The Bucketts Way at Belbora around 5.30pm on Wednesday, 6 June.

Police said a Subaru Outback travelling west collided with a Land Cruiser travelling in the opposite direction.

The 23-year-old male driver of the Subaru died at the scene.

The other driver, a 71-year-old woman, was taken to John Hunter Hospital where she was treated for non life threatening injuries.

Following investigations into the crash, on Tuesday officers charged the 71-year-old woman with negligent driving occasioning death.

She is due to appear in Taree Local Court on 4 September.
