Woman charged with murder after allegedly running over and killing cyclist

A WOMAN has been charged with murder after allegedly running over and killing a cyclist west of Brisbane.

Shui Ki Chan, 25, was found dead on the side of the Warrego Highway, across from the University of Queensland in Gatton on the morning of August 23, 2012.

It will be alleged the man was struck by a vehicle the night before and left to die on the roadside.

Following a protracted investigation, Queensland Police released a statement this afternoon, announcing that a 46-year-old woman from Newtown had been charged over the 2012 death.

She is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow, charged with one count of murder.
