Woman critical after being hit by car at Waterford West

A WOMAN is fighting for life after being hit by a car in Logan in the early hours of this morning.

The accident happened on Albert Street in Waterford West around 3.50am.

Three Queensland Ambulance crews, including a Critical Care Paramedic and the High Acuity Response Unit attended the scene.

A 29-year-old woman from Bethania was treated for significant leg and chest injuries.

She was then rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Queensland Police confirmed Albert Street was expected to be closed until at least 7.30am, with all eastbound traffic being diverted onto Loganlea Road.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area with lengthy delays already being experienced.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
