Woman dies after being pulled from water while scuba diving

A scuba diver has died after being pulled from the water in Sydney’s east yesterday.

About 9.40am on Saturday, emergency services were called to Gordons Bay near Clovelly Road in Clovelly, following reports a scuba diver needed assistance.

The diver, a 53-year-old woman, was pulled from the water by other divers who commenced CPR, before paramedics arrived on scene.

The woman was then rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital in a critical condition, where sadly she passed away overnight.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
