A RUSSIAN woman has died after passing through an airport security scanner.
Diana Tolstova, 30, was travelling with her husband Maxim, 33, from Baikal International Airport when the scanner caused her pacemaker to malfunction.
When she arrived at the gate, Diana complained of feeling dizzy and collapsed. Her husband called for help, but doctors were unable to help in time.

The Telegraph reports, Maxim had provided papers to security proving that Mrs Tolstova was fitted with the heart device which is adversely affected by airport scanners.
According to the American Heart Association “interactions with metal detectors are unlikely to cause clinically significant symptoms in most patients,” but it recommends those with pacemakers avoid being near them as much as possible.
Airport officials are investigating the incident.
