UPDATE AT 11:55 AM | A WOMAN who drowned at a beach in Surfers Paradise on Sunday morning is believed to have been travelling alone, police say.
Two 12-year-old boys reportedly found the woman floating in the surf off Ocean Avenue and dragged her lifeless body to shore just after 7am.
The children were surfing in the area at the time when they made the harrowing discovery, according to reports.

Lifeguards desperately tried to revive the woman by performing CPR before paramedics arrived and took over.
Confronting video footage obtained by myGC.com.au shows a team of half-a-dozen paramedics trying to resuscitate the woman on the sand.
It’s understood paramedics worked on the woman for almost an hour at the scene.
Sadly, however, despite their best efforts, the woman could not be saved and died before she could be taken to hospital.
It is not known how long she was in the water.
It’s understood the woman, who is believed to have been an international tourist, was travelling along and staying in accommodation nearby.
Police are still trying to track down her next of kin.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said paramedics were called to the beach at the end of Ocean Avenue around 7.15am.
They confirmed woman, aged in her 50s, was pulled from the water in a critical condition.
Despite their desperate attempts to revive her, however, the woman was unable to be saved.
