Woman killed, 70 cows ‘put down’ after car collides with cattle truck

A WOMAN has been killed after the car she was driving collided with a cattle truck in Queensland.

The two vehicles came to grief on the Dawson Highway at Banana on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the woman driving the sedan was critically injured and pronounced dead at the scene.


The man behind the wheel of the truck was treated by paramedics for minor injuries.

In a statement, police confirmed about 70 head of cattle were injured and had to be euthanised.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
