Woman dies after being hit by rolling car while searching boot

A WOMAN has died after being run over by a rolling car in Sydney.

The fatal accident happened on Ambleside Drive in Castle Hill just after 3.30pm on Sunday.

It’s understood two women, aged 32 and 58, were travelling in a vehicle when they pulled over to search for something in the rear of the car.

Police said the car has then begun rolling backwards hitting both the driver and her passenger.

Tragically, the 58-year-old passenger died at the scene.

The driver of the car, aged 32, was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has since been set up and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
