Woman killed, children injured in 4WD rollover

A WOMAN has been killed and five other people including two children have been injured after the 4WD they were in left the road and rolled near a town on the NSW-Victoria border.

The accident happened on Old Wentworth Road at Wentworth, in far southwest NSW, on Saturday afternoon.

Police said a Toyota Prado with six occupants left the road and flipped around 3.50pm.


A 47-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries and could not be saved. She was a passenger in the 4WD and sadly died at the scene.

The 34-year-old woman behind the wheel and four other occupants, a 75-year-old woman, a 16-year-old girl, five-year-old boy and four-year-old girl sustained multiple injuries of varying degree.

They were all taken by ambulance to Mildura Base Hospital for treatment.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.

Anyone with any information that could assist police is urged to come forward and call Crime Stoppers.
