POLICE are looking in to an accident along a dangerous stretch of road, following the death of a woman on Monday.
Around 4.20pm, a vehicle was travelling east along Gold Coast Springbrook Road when it lost control and struck a tree at a notorious ‘blind corner’.
The single occupant of the vehicle, a 54-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit continue to investigate.
EARLIER: A WOMAN has been killed in a nasty crash along a dangerous stretch of road on the Gold Coast.
The accident happened at the intersection of Gold Coast Springbrook and Monaro Roads at Mudgeeraba around 4.30pm.
Emergency services remain on scene of the fatality which has taken place on a notorious “blind corner”.
An ambulance spokesperson confirmed a woman of unknown age was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have closed the road to all traffic while the Gold Coast Forensic Crash Unit investigates.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area. There is no further information available at this time.
