A WOMAN has had to be pulled from her wrecked car in Southport following a two vehicle smash this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene near the corner of Stevens and High Streets just after 10.30am.
Witnesses reported smoke coming from one of the vehicles and said that bystanders were forced to pull an injured woman from the crumpled wreck.

The woman has since been transported to hospital with what is thought to be a serious head injury.
Fire fighters arrived quickly and prevented the car from erupting into a fireball.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area as the scene is investigated and the wreckage is cleared.
Parts of the road have been closed. It’s unclear what caused the two vehicles to collide or whether anyone else was injured.
Investigations are continuing.
