Woman ‘sexually touched’ during terrifying break-in through unit balcony

A man has been charged after he allegedly broke into a woman’s unit through the balcony door and sexually touched her while she was sleeping.

The terrifying alleged incident unfolded around 2am Thursday, at an apartment on Bulwarra Road in Pyrmont, NSW.

Police say a group of people, including a 21-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, left a left a licensed venue on George Street in Sydney before going back to the unit.

The group then left and the woman went to bed.

“A short time later, it’s alleged the 25-year-old man – who was recently known to the woman – forced entry to the unit via the fifth-floor balcony and entered the bedroom,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“It’s further alleged the man sexually touched the woman, before leaving the unit.”

Officers were alerted to the incident around 7.30pm last night and arrested the man after he returned to the George Street licensed venue about 1am this morning.

He was taken to Day Street Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence and sexually touch another person without consent.

The Ultimo man was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today.
