Woman tackled, indecently assaulted in terrifying attack

A young woman has been attacked by an unknown man while walking along a bike track in NSW.

It’s understood the 19-year-old was tackled from behind whilst strolling along the Armidale creek land bike track around 5.30pm on Sunday.

Police say the man indecently assaulted the woman before he was disturbed by witnesses who heard her cries for help.

The young woman suffered grazes and bruising.

Her attacker remains at large, with police appealing for anyone who can assist with the investigation to come forward.

The male has been described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged in his late teens, 175cm tall, with short black wavy hair, wearing black track pants and a black coloured jumper.
