Woman’s body discovered in house with uninjured baby boy

A WOMAN has been found dead near her uninjured baby son at a home north of Wollongong in NSW.

It’s understood emergency services were called to the house on Lorking Street at Bellambi around 1.00am, after the body of the 39-year-old was found inside.

Police said the woman had suffered “serious injuries” and that her death is being treated as suspicious.

The woman’s five-month-old son was also found in the home, however he was “uninjured and unharmed”.

The infant was taken to hospital and is now being cared for by his grandparents.

A crime scene has been established and investigations into the woman’s death are underway.
