Would-be robbers’ left with bruised egos after botched hold-up

POLICE are searching for three would-be robbers who tried holding-up a pub in Brisbane’s south overnight.

Three males stormed the Runcorn Tavern on Gowan Road in Sunnybank Hills about 10.30pm last night.

Police said one of the offenders was armed with a brick.

The trio allegedly walked up to the service counter and threatened a male staff member.

It’s alleged the group ordered the employee to open the cash register, but the staffer refused.

The wanna-be robbers then simply walked out of the premises, with nothing but a bruised ego.

Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident. Investigations are continuing.

Anyone with any information that could assist police with their investigation is urged to come forward.
