Young driver killed in single vehicle crash

A YOUNG man has tragically died following a single-vehicle crash in Sydney.

It happened in the suburb of Rhodes, in the city’s west, just before 11.30pm last night.

Police said a Mitsubishi Lancer left Concord Road and slammed into a tree.


The driver, a man in his 20s, was critically injured and died at the scene.

His female passenger was taken to Westmead Hospital with minor injuries.

A crime scene was established and examined by forensic police overnight.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
