Young girl missing for 4 years found by police

A young Queensland girl who has been missing for four years has finally been found.

Layla Leisha had been missing since 2014, when the Family Court of Australia issued a recovery order.

The youngster, now aged 11, is believed to have been with her father when she disappeared.


In a statement released on Monday, the Australian Federal Police said the child had been located on 30 September 2018, however they did not disclose where she was found.

“Police investigations lead to the recovery of Layla yesterday,” the statement reads.

“The AFP would like to thank the public and media for their continued interest and support in the matter.”

No further details can be published.
