Young man dies in hospital after being hit by car

A YOUNG man has sadly died in hospital after being hit by a car in Brisbane.

The 22-year-old was struck on Gympie Road at Chermside on Tuesday afternoon.

He was walking across the northbound lanes of the road when he was hit, police said.


The man, from Stafford Heights, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Sadly, police released a statement this morning, confirming the man died from his injuries last night.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The driver of the car involved in the accident, a 46-year-old woman was not physically injured.
