$1.5m worth of cannabis seized from Sydney business

MORE than one million dollars worth of cannabis has been seized by police during raids on a commercial business in New South Wales.

About 6am today, police from Penrith Local Area Command were called to a commercial building on Henry Street, Penrith following reports cannabis plants had been found growing on site.

Upon arrival, officers located a setup in a large warehouse, spread across seven rooms.


Approximately 500 cannabis plants valued at approximately $1.5 million were found growing inside six of the rooms, with the seventh serving as a seedling nursery.

Investigators also found a commercial grade air filtration and professionally diverted mains electrical system, in addition to a sophisticated lighting set-up.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
