10 schoolies arrested, 55 treated by paramedics on ‘chill out night’

SEVERAL schoolies were arrested and more than 50 treated by paramedics on day five of schoolies on the Gold Coast.

Ten school leavers were arrested on 12 charges on the official ‘chill out night’. Police say they were mainly for liquor and street offences.

Three schoolies were arrested on drug offences; another three were issued liquor infringement notices.


Queensland Ambulance said paramedics treated 55 patients within the party precinct, two of whom were admitted to hospital.

Meanwhile, police arrested 11 non-schoolies on 13 charges for public nuisance, drug and street offences.

Four ‘toolies’ were issued liquor infringement notices.
