10yo boy to face court after setting fire to Qld police beat

A YOUNG boy is due to face court today, accused of starting a fire that destroyed a police beat in northwest Queensland.

The 10-year-old boy allegedly started the blaze in the early hours of Saturday, causing two gas bottles to explode inside the Mt Isa police beat.

He has been charged with arson and will appear in the Mt Isa Children’s Court today.
