A 15-year-old has been charged after allegedly holding up a taxi driver at knifepoint in Sydney overnight.
Police allege that just after midnight, the boy entered a taxi on Bolton Street in Prospect, before allegedly threatening the driver with a knife.
The driver was luckily able to flee on foot and immediately notified the police. He wasn’t injured in the incident.

Officers then investigated, using the dog squad to track the boy to a nearby home.
Police then report that the taxi was found unattended with crash damage on Harwood Street in Seven Hills.
They found a knife inside the vehile.
The 15-year-old was taken to Blacktown Police Station and has since been charged with aggravated assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle armed with weapon.
He’s been refused bail and will front children’s court today.
