15yo dies in hospital after falling off back of ute on the Gold Coast

A 15-year-old boy has tragically died in hospital, after falling off the back of a ute in Bundall yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Larne Avenue around 1.00am yesterday morning, where they found the boy with a significant head injury.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment, though sadly passed away this morning as a result of his injuries.


After appealing to the public, police tracked down a 16-year-old boy who they allege was driving the car when the 15-year-old feel from the rear tray and struck his head.

He’s been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and unlicensed driving.

The charge is now expected to be upgraded.

Investigations are continuing.
