15yo threatened during armed robbery at KFC, Logan
A man’s been charged after a terrifying armed robbery at a KFC in Logan overnight.
It happened on Chambers Flat Road, Waterford West around 7.00pm.
A 40-year-old man, from Park Ridge, allegedly entered the business armed with a knife jumped over the counter and demanded cash from a 15-year-old staff member.
Then a nearby witness intervened and hit the 40-year-old with a golf club from his car, causing him to drop the knife.
The man was apparently subdued until police arrived and arrested him.
He’s been charged with entering a premise with intent to commit an indictable offence and attempted armed robbery.
He’s due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Investigations are still underway, and police are looking to speak to anyone with information about the incident.
