SEVENTEEN people have been charged after police carried out multiple raids across Queensland’s Darling Downs Region.
Officers from the State Crime Command’s Major and Organised Crime Squad carried out 16 raids across the Tara and Millmerran areas, west of Toowoomba, over the last three days.
During the search the officers allegedly found a stash of illegal firearms that had been modified and rebuilt buried on the properties.

They also located a quantity of cannabis and methylamphetamine valued at over $262,000. The cannabis seizure included 25 mature plants ranging in size from two to four metres in height.
Twelve illegal firearms were also seized – a MG08 Military 303 machine gun, one x Ruger Mini 14 .223 with two extended magazines, one 303 full wood Military rifle, one single barrel shotgun 12 gauge, one black powder musket, one homemade black powder pistol, two homemade silencers, two homemade black powder cannons, one .22 bolt action rifles and one homemade firearm.
The 17 people were charged with 56 drug and weapons offences.
