The arrests come after police pledged to crack down on drug use during the event.
“Schoolies week is a timely reminder to the community that the possession and consumption of drugs is illegal,” police said in a statement on Saturday morning.
“Not only is it illegal – it is also dangerous and could have fatal consequences.”
Police said they were generally pleased with the behaviour of schoolies during the first night of celebrations.
