$188,000 worth of cannabis plants seized from suburban Sydney home

A man has been charged after police seized $188,000 worth of cannabis plants from a home in Sydney’s south yesterday.

Police say that about 7.00pm, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Burgess Street, Beverley Park.

During the search, they allegedly located 94 cannabis plants, with an estimated potential street value of $188,000.

A 28-year-old Lakemba man was arrested at the home and taken to St George Police Station.

He was charged with cultivate prohibited plant (commercial quantity), use/consume/waste electricity without authority and supply cannabis leaf.

The man was bail refused to appear before Sutherland Local Court today.
