18yo and three teens arrested over luxury car thefts, Gold Coast

An 18-year-old man and three teenage girls have been arrested, following a series of break and enters and car thefts across the Gold Coast.

It comes after a Lexus and a Mercedes was stolen from a home in Benowa early yesterday morning.

Police allege that offenders stole money, credit cards and keys to both vehicles around 6.30am.


A stolen Kia Sportage, which had been taken in an earlier theft then left at the Cabana Boulevard address, then led police to an address in Ashmore where the stolen Lexus and Mercedes were located in a nearby street.

An 18-year-old man from Ashmore was charged and will front Southport Court today, while a 16-year-old girl from Logan Reserve has also been charged and will fact Beenleigh Children’s Court today.

Two other 17-year-olds are continuing to assist police with inquiries.

While police are also investigating the theft of a Jaguar and Land Rover from a Mascala Parade residence at Mermaid Waters between June 12 and 13, as well as the theft of an Audi from a Sundance Way residence at Runaway bay on June 14.

Police have also issued a reminder to the public about the importance of locking and securing your home and property.
