Teen girl charged over Surfers Paradise stabbing

UPDATE @ 4.00PM| Police have charged a teenage girl over an alleged stabbing of a man in the middle of Surfers Paradise early this morning.

The 30-year-old man and a friend were confronted by a group of females while walking through Cavill Mall around 4am.

The man suffered several stab wounds to his torso and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.


One of the females was taken into custody, with Police now charging a 17-year-old Marsden girl with one count of wounding.

She will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on September 30.

Police say their investigations are continuing.

EARLIER @ 6.00AM | An 18-year-old woman has been arrested, after allegedly stabbing a man multiple times in Surfers Paradise in the early hours of this morning.

Early inquiries indicate a 30-year-old man and his friend were walking along Cavill Street Mall around 4.00am, when they were confronted by a group of women.

An altercation broke out, during which the man was allegedly stabbed several times.

Police say he received a number of puncture wounds to his torso area.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition, with the high acuity response team on board.

An 18-year-old woman is in police custody, but charges are yet to be laid.

Investigations are continuing.
