A rechargeable fan has been recalled from Big W stores nationwide.
In a notice posted on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission website, the company says they have pulled the OZtrail Rechargeable Fan from sale because they “have no Australian certificate of conformity or approval and may not comply with Australian Safety Standards”.
“The affected fans pose a fire and electric shock hazard to users,” the notice reads.

The recalled models were sold nationally through BIG W stores and online from
www.bigw.com.au from September 2015 to July 2017.
Models affected will feature markings on the battery unit showing the OZtrail brand and have an LED light panel adjacent to the handle. The unit charges from either a 12 volt or 240 volt source and was
supplied with these cords at the time of sale.
People have been told to stop using the product immediately and return it to BIG W stores for a full refund.
