Man charged after young girl approached, asked to “get in the car”
A man has been charged with breaching bail after allegedly asking a young girl to “get into his car” at Lismore yesterday.
Police said that just after 7.40am, a 15-year-old girl was walking along Uralba Street when she was approached by a man in a Holden ute.
“The man engaged in conversation with the girl, before allegedly asking her to get in the car,” police said in a statement.
The girl is understood to have made a phone call with the man then man driving off.
The incident was reported to police and following investigations, officers arrested a 47-year-old man about 3.00pm yesterday.
He was taken to Lismore Police Station where he was charged with stalk/intimidate with intent to cause fear of harm and breach of bail.
The man was refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court today.
