Police hunting sweet-toothed thieves after $75K worth of Nutella stolen

A truck trailer filled with 20,000kg of Nutella and Kinder Surprise eggs has been stolen in Germany.

The sticky-fingered thieves are believed to have taken the trailer, which was filled with the popular chocolate treats, sometime between 7pm on Saturday, and 1.30pm on Sunday.

The theft occurred in the German town of Neustadt, with the stolen goods worth about $75,000AUD, police said in a statement.

“Anyone offered large quantities of chocolate via unconventional channels should report it to the police immediately,” people are being warned.

It’s not known whether the theft was planned or simply opportunistic.

What we do know however, is that we will never take Nutella for granted ever again…
