Police appeal for fatal Sydney CBD shooting witnesses to come forward

Detectives investigating the fatal police shooting in Sydney CBD last month have released CCTV images to try and identify witnesses who have not yet spoken to police.

Just before 6.45pm on Wednesday 26 July, police shot dead an armed, 30-year-old man near the entrance to Central Railway Station.

A critical incident investigation has been ongoing ever since, with detectives today releasing CCTV images of 10 people who may have witnessed the incident, but have not yet spoken to officers.

The images depict five women and five men who are in the immediate area before and/or at the time of the shooting.

Police say the witnesses might simply have seen the incident or may have filmed the incident on mobile phones.

Anyone who knows someone in the images is urged to request they make contact with investigators either by contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or providing their contact details to local police.
