Community groups and sporting clubs across the Gold Coast could score up to $20,000 towards a project if they can demonstrate it will deliver social benefits, increase participation or contribute to the local area.
The funding, through the Australian Government’s Stronger Communities Program, can cover up to 50 per cent of a projects cost.
Federal Member for McPherson Karen Andrews said projects that had received funding previously included upgrades to clubhouses, safety equipment, new bathroom facilities and demountable buildings.

“This is a great way for our local community groups and charities to improve their facilities and assist in their great work.”
“If your organisation is planning a future project, this is a great opportunity for the Federal Government to support your work and help fund the costs,” she said.
Nomination forms must be submitted before 25 August. A local consultation panel will then consider all proposals and selected projects will then be invited to formally apply.
