2016 Rio Olympic mascots revealed

MASCOTS for the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro have been revealed and they are cuter than ever.

Depicting a cat, a bright yellow smiley faced figure is the mascot of the 2016 Olympics being held in Rio de Janeiro.

But it’s not just a cat.

“I’m a mixture of all the Brazilian animals,” the mascot is reported to have said. “I was born out of the explosion of joy that happened when they announced that Rio would host the Olympic Games.”

Also born from the same joyous explosion is the mascot for the Paralympics, a mopped-headed doll with leafy hair, meant to represent the vast diversity of the flora in Brazil.

A public poll will be conducted to name the pair from a shortlist of three choices: Oba and Eba; Tiba Tuque and Esquindim; and Vinicius and Tom.

We can’t wait to see the joyous smiley faced pair strut their stuff around Rio.
