20yo arrested after man found with serious head injuries on GC road

UPDATE: A 20-year-old Southport man has been charged after another man was found with serious head injuries in the middle of a Gold Coast road last month.

Around 5.20am on May 3, emergency services responded to reports of a 27-year-old man unconscious on Tallia Road near Viscount Drive.

At the time he was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The injured man remains in Gold Coast University Hospital in an induced coma.

Following ongoing investigations, a 20-year-old man from Southport was today arrested and charged with dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, failing to remain at the scene of an accident as well as supply and possess dangerous drug offences.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, June 9.

Following the horrifying incident, the victims family appealed for help from the public to track down their sons attacker.

The man arrested is presently assisting police with their investigations.
