The two-year-old girl who was found motionless in a car in Sydney’s west has passed away in hospital, a day after she was allegedly bashed by a man known to her mother.
Police were called to McCredie Road, Guildford West, on Monday afternoon where they found the little girl unresponsive in a parked car.
Officers tried to revive her and she was rushed to hospital in a critical condition where she died on Tuesday night.

A 22-year-old man, known to the girl, was arrested at Fairfield. He was taken to Merrylands Police Station where he was charged with reckless assault causing grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to reappear at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 10 January 2017.
It is expected the man’s charges will be upgraded to murder when he reappears in court.
