It’s understood a family member raced upstairs and charged into the kid’s room, which was engulfed in flames.

The relative managed to save the baby, however sadly, they were unable to rescue the four-year-old boy.

Emergency services arrived to find flames shooting out of a second storey window.

After extinguishing the blaze, fire crews discovered the child’s body in a burnt-out bedroom on the second floor.

Five other occupants, including the one-year-old infant, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to the scene to investigate the boy’s death and cause of the fire, however, investigators say they are not treating it as suspicious at this stage.

A crime scene has been established until the cause of the fire can be determined.

The upper floor of the townhouse was extensively damaged.
