MORE than 40 people have died and many others have been left injured following a horrifying bus crash in France.
The accident happened when a bus carrying a group of 49 retirees collided with a truck outside the village of Puisseguin, east of the city of Bordeaux, at around 7.30am local time.
Both vehicles burst into flames after impact, killing at least 42 people, most of whom were elderly pensioners.

Eight others were injured – four seriously.
A crisis counselling hotline has been set-up in response to the crash which is said to be France’s deadliest since August 1982 when 53 people, most of whom were children, lost their lives in a motorway pile-up.
