FORMER NRL star Jarryd Hayne appears to have lost his job as punt returner for the San Francisco 49ers.
It comes after the NFL club’s special teams coach Thomas McGaughey said he feels “very comfortable” with Reggie Bush, the veteran who replaced Hayne in last week’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks, as the team’s punt returner.
Hayne was left out of the 46-man squad for the Seahawks game after committing three punt return fumbles in the first six games of the regular season.

Bush, a 10-year NFL veteran, is also considered a more reliable option at Hayne’s other position, running back.
The 49ers have lost five of their seven games and play away against the three win, three loss division rival St Louis Rams on Sunday.
